Wednesday, June 30, 2010 Creating Customer Value in the Rehab IndustryCreating value for customers is the oxygen line of any business. In essence, it's what brings people in the door and what keeps them coming. Peter Drucker once wrote that the purpose of the organization is to "create and maintain customers". Value creation is at the core of this process. In this month's article I try to correlate how some great companies have created value for their customers and how therapy firms can similarly drive value through four main value components: 1) Product; 2) Service; 3) Accessibility; and 4) Price. There is a distinctive difference in the role and value of each of these two functions. Organizations that tend to perform at high levels know the distinction between these two very well and place potential leaders and managers in roles that suit their personality, abilities and talents. The traits of leaders are very distinct from those of managers and is important to recognize both. But most importantly, the day to day duties and roles of managers and leaders must vary as well. Through the insight of some well known scholars in this topic I try to explain the difference between the two in this month's article but most importantly, answer the fundamental question of what leaders and managers do. |

regulators interested in receiving specific information in our professional domain. The web site will showcase
